Mango Cardigan

The cardigan is worked from the top down in a stripe pattern. Stitches are first cast on for the back, which is worked back and forth with short rows to shape the neck and shoulders. Stitches are then picked up for the front pieces, which are worked back and forth with short rows and increases for the neckline. When the front pieces are complete, stitches are picked up for the sleeve caps, which are shaped with short rows. All stitches are placed on the same needle and the work is continued back and forth with raglan increases. When all increases are complete, the work is divided for the sleeves, front and back. The front and back are worked to full length and finished with ribbing. The sleeves are worked in the round with decreases evenly distributed down the sleeves and finished with ribbing. Stitches are picked up for the front bands and neckband, which are worked in ribbing. The entire cardigan is worked holding 1 strand of each quality together.
